The launch of the much anticipated Misty Pink Nintendo 3DS is here and while there has been little mention of it, Nintendo have finally formally announced the release date for the Pink Nintendo 3DS following the huge success of the Pink DS. As with the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS features two screens. At the top is the 3.5" display that provides the 3D visuals, while at the bottom there's a slightly smaller touch screen display. On the left-hand side of the touch screen there's an analogue controller and a D-pad, while the usual four-button array sits on the right. On the right-hand side is a slider that controls the level of the 3D graphical effect – it can even be switched off completely. There are also three cameras, one above the screens, and two on the other side, which will allow users to take 3D digital photographs – a fantastic little feature.

The 3DS, including the Pink Nintendo 3DS when released, measures 134 x 73 x 20mm making it around the same size as the Nintendo DSi. There is a selection of colours including purple and the outside differences continue with not one but two cameras. The extra camera is so the 3DS can shoot 3D footage.

Due to the tiny sweet spot in which the 3D effect is visible, we can't see this technology taking off in TV or cinemas anytime soon though.
